Tropical Storm Kirk Electricity System Update #4

Tropical Storm Kirk Electricity System Update #4

Castries, September 29, 2018St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) currently has nine (9) crews out in the field as power restoration work following the passage of Tropical Storm Kirk continues. To date, power has been restored to 99% of our customers.

Specific pockets remain without electricity and that includes: communities in Babonneau, Grande-Riviere, Dennery as well as Rock Hall and Bisee. In addition, there are some isolated individual customers the crews will be getting to during the course of the day.

These isolated faults take a little longer to resolve as the crews give priority to the more major faults. The smaller, localised faults such as broken service lines (from the pole to the meter) are all being taken care of now that most of the critical faults are repaired.

LUCELEC reminds its customers that while several operators are taking calls in our Trouble Call Department, because of the volume of reports, not all will be picked up immediately. We encourage you to please keep trying in the North (from Cap Estate to Dennery) at 452-2165 and in the South (from Praslin to Soufriere) at 457-4800.

We are working to have all customers restored by end of day today.
