LUCELEC powers another youth football season
When the ECFH-LUCELEC Summer Football Fiesta kicks off this weekend, youth from Castries and environs will take to the field with the support of LUCELEC firmly behind them.
LUCELEC, for the fourth straight year, is co-title sponsor of the tournament organized by the Castries Football Council.
In making a ten thousand dollar cheque presentation towards the initiative on Thursday July 26, 2012, LUCELEC Corporate Communications Manager Roger Joseph lauded the CFC for its management of the tournament.
“CFC promised to deliver an exciting youth football tournament that is going to work towards the development of, not just youth football, but young people and we are very pleased to confirm that from what we’ve seen over the least three years, the tournament is achieving the objectives that were set,” Mr. Joseph said.
The six-week Summer Football Fiesta provides youth in the city with an avenue to showcase their talent while also channelling their energies in a very meaningful way. Its objectives go to the heart of LUCELEC’s corporate social responsibility principle of youth development.
CFC Acting Secretary Curtis Paul said “we are happy that ECFH and LUCELEC are continuing this rich partnership that we have developed over the past four years”.
He added that, “considering the hard economic times that we are facing, they are still on board with us and they are also pledging to remain married to the CFC with regards to this tournament.”
LUCELEC’s support of the youth football league will help to cover the cost of the provision of goods and services to ensure a successful tournament.
LUCELEC wishes to congratulate the CFC on the hosting of yet another exciting season of the island’s premier youth football league and looks forward to continue working with the Council to promote youth development in St Lucia.
