LUCELEC Engages Stakeholders On Decarbonization Of Transportation

One of the areas Saint Lucia is pursuing to solve this energy challenge and reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector is the transition to electric-powered vehicles or EV’s.

Castries, November 7, 2022 - St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) restored service to 99% of all customers in the North when Forestiere was energized at 12:39 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022.

Service restoration following the passage of a trough system on Sunday, November 6, began at 3:42 p.m. LUCELEC Technical crews and contractors are currently working to restore service to the small section of Balata that remains without power.

Castries, November 6, 2022 - St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) crews are working to restore service to a number of customers following a trough system on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

The Union substation was automatically interrupted at 2:09 p.m. resulting in loss of service to a number of areas including Union, Union Orchard to Babonneau, Monchy, Corinth, Vide Bouteille, Sunny Acres, Cacao, Forestierre, Marisule, Bois d’Orange, Grande-Riviere, Monier, Trouya and East Winds.
