Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) welcomes news the Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL) has invited a World Bank Team to evaluate and quantify the geothermal resource at a number of locations in Soufriere namely Fond Doux, Belle Plain and Belle Fond. 

The team will assess technical issues and evaluate the impact of developing the resource as a potential source of energy.  

St Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) was one of the companies which joined Governor-General Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy in a national drive to restore our forests following the devastation of Hurricane Tomas in 2010.

Along with financial assistance, staff volunteered to plant trees alongside storm ravaged river banks and slopes. It was an experience that struck a chord with the LUCELEC Sports Club, an organization of and for LUCELEC staff which functions to provide social and cultural activities for the company’s hundreds of employees.

The Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) Generation Department has been awarded a National Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contribution Towards the Education Sector.

The Department was recognized for its work at the Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre (in Ciceron) where a core group of thirteen (13) members, supported by the other members of the department as needed, have volunteered since 2010.
