The Power of Caring Delivers For Dugard Combined

Castries, February 7, 2019 – The Dugard Combined School in Choiseul has a student population of two hundred and forty (240). Ahead of the start of the new academic year in September, school officials had one wish, a new library and dining area. It was a project the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) agreed to fund, initially estimated at just over twenty thousand dollars ($20,000). Work began in August 2018.

LUCELEC Vieux-Fort Office Closed For Urgent Maintenance

Castries, January 30, 2019 – The St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) Customer Service office at Vieux-Fort closed on Monday, January 28, 2019 and will remain so until further notice to facilitate unforeseen and urgent maintenance.  

The Vieux-Fort office closure is necessary to ensure customers and staff can make use of the building safely and comfortably.

Castries, October 10, 2018 – St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) is pleased to advise that from about 2 p.m. today, it has been meeting 100% of the electricity demand following a system shutdown this morning. 

The power outage which occurred at 9:04 a.m. was caused by a major internal fault at the Cul De Sac power station.  Power restoration to some parts of the island started around 10:28 a.m. once the fault had been isolated.

Initially, it was not possible to output the full capacity of the generating plant at Cul De Sac.
