Following investigations, power restoration commenced at 9:48 a.m. with supply progressively returning across the island.  Restoration was completed at 10:52 a.m.

Castries, July 14, 2026 – St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) continues to monitor developments in global energy markets. This comes as international oil prices remain volatile due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Geopolitical developments, supply constraints, and shifts in global demand remain key drivers of fuel price volatility. LUCELEC will continue to closely monitor market developments and actively manage fuel price risks in the best interests of customers.

Castries, May 02, 2026St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) wishes to provide additional information regarding the island-wide power outage experienced across Saint Lucia on the evening of Friday, May 1, 2026.

At approximately 9:37 p.m., an unexpected fault occurred on an 11 kilovolt (11kV) breaker within LUCELEC’s Cul-de-Sac electricity network. The fault triggered the automatic protection systems designed to prevent significant equipment damage resulting in the total shutdown of the electricity system.
