LUCELEC Continues Support for Inter School Sports Programme

St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) has made a $50,000 contribution towards the 2013/14 school sports programme.  The money was handed over during the recent official launch of the 2013 School Sports Program under the theme, “Securing our Future through Education and Sporting Excellence.”

The amount is the second instalment of a three year $150,000.00 commitment to the School Sports Programme organised by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.

LUCELEC Improving Protection Systems for Greater Reliability

St Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) is continuing efforts to reduce interruptions to the electricity supply to customers. The power company is improving its protection systems through a major software upgrade and training in its use. 

Currently nine members of staff are attending a training workshop in how to use the software which maintains the relays used by the electricity company to pinpoint and repair faults on its network. Relays are protective devices that ensure any changes in the electricity network are immediately communicated to the System Control Centre.

As the Castries Youth Football League moves into its fifth week, main sponsor St Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) is pleased with the action thus far. LUCELEC has been a title sponsor of the Castries Football Council organized competition since its inception. Corporate Communications Manager Roger Joseph says the company’s investment in the tournament over the last four years has more than paid off.
